About dobok
The dobok is the taekwondo uniform.
The taekwondo uniform consists of:
• Blouse (in Korean: Tumuragi)
• Pants (in Korean: Paji)
• Belt (in Korean: Tti)
Depending on the degree obtained, in taekwondo doboks are divided into 3 large categories (doboks for poomse are not included here):
• white lapel doboks – for holders of lower ranks from 10 Keup to 2 Keup
• red and black lapel doboks – for 1st degree Keup holders
• black lapel doboks – for holders of the higher ranks from 1st Dan to 9th Dan.
The belt shows the level of mastery, skill of the one who owns it. Because of this there are several colors or combinations of colors that are printed on the belt.
The lower grades (Keup) are numbered in descending order, from 10 Keup (white belt) to 1 Keup (red and black belt).
Higher grades they are numbered in ascending order, from 1 Dan to 9 Dan.
Taekwondo is based on the oriental philosophy according to which the human spirit descends from heaven to earth (movement descent - descending numbers - Keup), then going up, at the moment when man fulfilled his mission on earth (ascending movement - increasing numbers - Dan).

• 7 Keup – yellow belt with green braid
