Mongkhon (in Thai มงต้ – mōŋkʰōn) is a head ornament worn by Muay Thai fighters. Muay Thai fighters receive the Mongkhon only after their trainers have seen that they have gained enough experience and know a wide range of Muay Thai fighting techniques. The mongkhon should never be close to the ground. It is worn in time Wai Khru Ram Muay and it is manipulated only by the teacher or athlete otherwise it loses all its qualities and becomes worthless. The mongkhon is only worn in Thailand.
