Description

Outdoor tabs. Tabi they are traditional Japanese ankle-high socks with a separate thumb.

It is worn with tights, DAWN or other traditional footwear. In the old days they were made of deer or monkey skin (kawatabi) and were tied at the ankles with a string. Nowadays they are made of silk, cotton or nylon. They are attached with kohaze (a kind of stitches).

This model of outside tabi it has a rubber sole, so it can be used directly, without tights or DAWN, being itself a shoe.

This version of of course are called Jika-tabi (tables that are in contact with the ground). Jika-tabi they are worn by farmers, construction workers, gardeners, etc. as shoes, not as socks.
