Nunchaku is a traditional island weapon Okinawa. Nunchaku is originally an agricultural tool (similar the embrace from Romania - this being also composed of two segments
but unequal). It is a widely used traditional weapon (called in Vietnamese martial arts long giant and in Chinese martial arts er jie gun –二節棍).
segments nunchakuare equal and connected by a string or chain. The techniques of nunchaku involves hitting with nunchaku, blocking techniques of opponent's attacks and combinations of nunchaku to surprise the aggressor.
a nunchaku is composed of:
• Himo: the string that connects the two handles of the same nunchaku.
• Ana: a hole through song (in both segments) for himand only nunchaku which are linked by him through ana.
• Kusari: the chain that connects the two handles of the same nunchaku.
• Kontoh: the top of a segment – the part where the two segments join; if a string hole is drilled through it it is called ana.
• Jukon-bu: the upper part of a segment.
• Chukon-bu: the central part of a segment.
• Kikon-bu: The bottom of a segment.
• Kontei: the end of a segment.
In general nunchaku it was seen as a self-defense weapon.
Painted Nunchaku It is nunchaku made of wood, with a round shape, the joint between the segments being made with a chain. On the segments nunchaku- each tiger is painted. Painted Nunchaku – with chain has blue colored segments.
