Telescopic Taichi Sword. The Chinese sword is known as jian. In Vietnamese martial arts the sword is called kiem. It is one of the oldest known weapons, with a history of more than 2500 years. It is a one-handed weapon (unlike the Japanese katana which is a two-handed weapon). It is considered a major weapon by Chinese martial arts practitioners alongside the gun (stick), dao (club) and qiang (spear). There is also a Chinese sword for two hands, ММА, but is much less often used.
